The ranking released today by Quacquarelli Symonds, a British organization specializing in education and studying abroad, lists the top 200 universities and colleges in the world.
由國際著名教育機構Quacquarelli Symonds(QS)所發表的2015最新QS世界大學前200強排名在倫敦新鮮出爐了。
What is QS World University Rankings?
什麼是QS世界大學排名？
The QS World University Rankings are based on four key pillars, research, teaching, employability and internationalization and the methodology consists of academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international students, and international faculty.
QS世界大學排名主要參考以下六個方面的指數來衡量：學術領域的同行評價（全球僱主聲譽），全球僱主評價（全球僱主聲譽），教師/學生比例（師生比），單位教職的論文引用數（師均論文發表數），國際學生比例和國際教師比例。
Currently there are four versions of such lists regarding top world universities: QS World University Rankings, Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), US News Best Clobal Universities and Times World University Rankings.
目前，世界上有四種權威通用的全球性大學排名榜單：QS世界大學排名，美國新聞與世界報道——世界大學排行榜，世界大學學術排名以及泰晤士高等教育世界大學排名。
The Overview of the List

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was at the top of the ranking, while Harvard University took up the second place and the University of Cambridge shares the third place with Stanford University.
本次排名，麻省理工學院爲世界第一。緊隨其後的是哈佛大學，以及並列第三的劍橋大學與斯坦福大學。
For Asian universities, National University of Singapore ranks the 12th of the ranking, also the top place among all the Asian universities, while Nanyang Technological University, also in Singapore, ranks the 13th. Those are the only two Asian universities ranking in the top 20.
亞洲方面，新加坡國立大學以第12名的位置領跑亞洲大學，南洋理工大學上升26位排名第13。這兩所學校也是此次排名榜單中，僅有的兩所躋身前20名的亞洲高校。此次前20強大學仍以英美高校居多。
How are Chinese Universities Doing?
中國高校表現如何？
For Chinese universities, there are 7 Chinese mainland universities ranking among the top 200, with 4 of them ranking among the top 100.
此次共有7所中國大陸院校和5所香港學校進入200強，其中有4所大陸院校進入全球百強大學。
They’re Tsinghua University at 25th, Peking University at 41st, Fudan University at 51st, Shanghai Jiaotong University at 70th, Zhejiang University at 110th, University of Science and Technology of China at 113th, and Nanjing University at 130th.
這些學校是：清華大學（第25），北京大學（第41），復旦大學（第51），上海交通大學（第70），浙江大學（第110），中國科學技術大學（第113）以及南京大學（第130）。
Tsinghua University ranks the 25th among the whole list for the first time and the 3rd among all Asian academies. It’s the first time that a Chinese mainland university ranks in the top 25 since 2006.
此次清華大學首次進入全球25名，亞洲排名第3，自2006年後首次將中國大陸帶入世界25強大學。
Specifically, Peking University has both the best academic and employer reputation among all the Chinese academies on the list. Peking University also scores more points on international students and faculty ratio than Tsinghua University, but less points on faculty/student ratio and citations per faculty.
具體分析，北京大學在全球學術聲譽和僱主聲譽上位列中國第一，在國際學位生和國際教職工兩項，高於清華，卻在”師生比”和”師均論文發表數”上稍許失分，位列中國大陸第二。
As far as 'citations per faculty’ are concerned, the University of Science and Technology of China performed the best among all Chinese universities, with Nanjing University and Tsinghua University ranking the 2nd and 3rd place.
“師均論文發表數”中，今年中科大位列中國第一。緊隨其後的是南京大學和清華大學。
The list shows that Chinese universities still need improvement on 'faculty/student ratio’, 'international students’ ratio’ and 'international faculty ratio’.
