Are you there?
用：電話上沉默了一會兒後， （如一方在覈對東西，或在找人或被別人叫走一會兒等）再呼叫時的用語。
意：喂，你在聽嗎？
例.A:Hello, are you there? Wcll,I can't find the contract now. Can you gct back to me in hAlf an hour?
喂，你在聽嗎？嗯，我現在找不到那份合同，你半小時後再給我來
電可以嗎？
B：Allright，thanks!
好吧，多謝！
Aren't (Don't,HaYen't)we all

用：指對別人說的話不表示同情，是一種不滿、不服氣的態度。
意：大家都一樣；誰不是！
例.A:All the old guy wants is gold and silver,and a beautiful woman.
老傢伙想要的是金子、銀子，還有漂亮的女人！
B：Don't we all!
這些誰都想要！
A: Don't bother Greg. He's quite busy at this moment.
別打擾格雷格，他這會兒很忙。
B: Aren't we alll l wouldn't, if he were not the supervisor!
誑不忙！他要不是廠監我纔不找他呢！
A: No, he can’t do it at once. He's been running the machine for many hours.
不行，他不能馬上做，他開那臺機器好幾個小時沒停了。
B: Haven't we aU?I haven't had a chance to shut my eyes in the last 14 hours!

用：表示對別人的建議、陳述、解釋的不滿。有時可單獨使用As if!
意：不贊同、氣憤、懷疑、不相信（具體譯文根據上下文而定）

例：He likes to stay outside in hot 'II be in this garden,as like as not.
熱天他喜歡呆在外面。他多半是呆在這園子裏。

很有可能她會獲得這項獎學金。
as+形容詞+as anything
用：這個短語也可說 you Iike。
意：非常；相當；很容易就…；…跟什麼似的
例.I could climb up that tree as easy as anything.
我可以很容易就爬上那棵樹。
It was only a small gift,but she was as pleased as anything with it.
那只是個小禮物，可她高興得跟什麼似的。
“Get away, it's not your dog and you're not my daddy!”the boy said as rude as you like．
“走開，這不是你的狗，你也不是我爸爸！”那孩子非常粗魯地說道。
