從古至今,戀愛有3個階段。第一階段是“尋求戀情”,第二階段是“戀情帶來的興奮和激動”,第三階段是“戀情的終止”。既然戀愛是我們生活中的一個重要部分,當然有很多表示關於愛情的俚語。下面,我們就繼續來學習它們。

1. turn someone on

釋義:It means to excite or interest someone. 譯為:使人感興趣或興奮。

例句:Loo at those biceps! Big muscles really turn me on! (看那二頭肌!結實的肌肉真能引起我的性慾。)

Fast music with a good beat turns me on. (節奏快的音樂會引起我的興趣。)

2. ups and downs ( to have )

釋義:It means positive and negative events or experiences, considered collectively. 譯為:起伏,起落。

例句:I've had my ups and downs, but in general life has been good to me.(我的生活起伏跌宕,但總體來說生活對於我來說,還是美好的。)

Our relationship has it's ups and downs but Ted and I are basically happy. (我和Ted經歷了起起落落,但總的說來,我們還是非常快樂的。)

I suppose every marriage has its ups and downs. (我想每段婚姻都有它的起起落落。)

3. wear the pants in the family

釋義:在家做主,當家

例句:I let Bill make all the decision in our house. He wears the pants in the family. (家裡所有的事情,我都讓Bill來做決定。我們家裡他說了算。)

Jack is just like every other man, so afraid that people will say his wife wear the pants in the family. (Jack就和其他男人一樣,怕人家說他的妻子當家。)
