雪天隨想Feeling in Snow
As soon as I walked outside, I was greeted with the white blanket of cold.
一出門,迎面襲來的就是一股寒氣,展現在眼前的是一個白茫茫的世界。
Despite the chill out there, inside I was warm. I felt as though I could be giving off heat. I had the desire to stay out in the freezing weather for hours. It was the type of day that speaks to you through its elements. I took a deep breath to hear more snow coming.
儘管感覺很冷,但我的內心卻很溫暖。我感覺自己彷彿能發熱似的。我真希望自己能長時間駐足在這冰天雪地裏。在這種日子裏,大自然會通過冰雪來跟我們交流。我深深地吸了一口氣,靜聽雪花不斷地飄落……
As I walked, I looked up, trying to think of what made this day so beautiful, so peaceful. It was as if time had been put temporarily on hold and I had been along with it. Or maybe I was the only one ...

Either way, the loneliness was comforting, and I sensed myself floating away. I sat down on the edge of a road and listened. All there was to hear was the wind rushing over the top of my head and circling old leaves a few feet away. To me it was the reassuring1 sound of nature, trying not to be forgotten. It did start to snow. The big, fat flakes clung immediately to their surface.

And when the last scene of all comes, and death takes the master on its arms, and his body is laid away in the cold ground, even if all other friends pursue their way, there by his graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even to death.
