深圳發千萬元“數字紅包”

China's Shenzhen will issue 10 million yuan worth of digital currency in a pilot program to promote the application of the new form of currency.

中國深圳將試點發放價值1000萬元的數字貨幣，以推動這種新型貨幣形式的應用。

The program, in collaboration with the People's Bank of China, will issue the currency in 50,000 "red envelopes" worth 200 yuan each via a random draw.

該項目是與中國人民銀行聯合開展的，將通過抽籤的方式發行5萬個“紅包”，每個紅包金額爲200元。

Shenzhen residents can apply to participate in the draw starting Friday.

自10月9日起，深圳市民可申請參與抽籤活動。

The winners will be notified on Monday and can download an app to receive their red envelopes.

10月12日中獎用戶將收到通知，可下載某應用來接收紅包。

The money can be used for shopping in designated businesses in Shenzhen's district of Luohu, which funded the program.

本次試點由深圳市羅湖區出資，公衆可用數字貨幣在羅湖區指定商戶進行消費。
