第一, 情景對話
A: What's happened? Why are the students kicking up such a row?
發生什麼事了?學生們怎麼大吵大鬧的。
B: It is because of one of those things that keep happening these days.
因為近些天發生了一件事。
A: What is it?
什麼事?
B: The school authorities asked them to sell some products and forced them to finish their quotas. And most of the students find it hard to sell.
學校讓他們賣東西,還讓他們定額完成任務,大多數學生髮覺很難賣。
A: That is indeed a problem. Their parents should join them and raise their opposition against such an unfair task imposed on the students.
這確實是個問題,他們的父母也應該一起來抵制這種加在學生身上的任務。
第二, 詞海拾貝
kick up a row
exp. To be very vocal in one's displeasure about something; to make a scene. (大聲表示對某事的不滿,大吵大鬧)
e.g. My mom kicked up a row when the store refused to accept her return without a receipt.
當商店因我母親沒有貨物的收據而拒絕退貨時,我母親便大吵大鬧起來了。
e.g. At most big box stores, if you kick up a row about a product that didn't meet your expectations, you'll definitely get a refund.

e.g. Unless his mother went with him, he would kick up a row until he was taken back downstairs to her.

e.g. All the planes were socked in yesterday because of the thick mist.

e.g. The lives of many people have been enriched because of education.
許多人的生活由於受了教育而變得更加充實。
