Can't make it work——不能上班

One of the workers on my construction crew didn't show up for work on Monday, and he didn't phone to explain his absence. On Tuesday morning, though, he did call.

"I won't be able to make it to work today," he said, "or yesterday."

　我所在的基建組的一名工人週一沒有來上班，而且沒有打電話來解釋。 不過，週二早上，他的確打電話來了。

“我今天來不了上班了”他說，“昨天也是”。
