　　Palladium

When Ilus had first built his new seat,the city of Troy, he prayed Zeus to show some sign of blessing for it. His prayer was heard,and a wooden image of Pallas- A-thena fell from heaven to within the walls of the city. Known as the Palladium, the statue afforded the city safety and protection. At religious meetings of the goddess it was carried through the city streets amid joys and songs of praise.

After the flames of war had spread for ten years before the walls of Troy, a prophet foretold that Troy could never be expected to fall as long as the Palladium was treasured by its people order to steal it out,Odysseus and Diomedes slipped into the capital one night in disguise ,known to none but bad woman took out them to He cuba, the queen of Troy, at whose feet Odysseus immediately bowed down and asked queen granted their request,and with the help of Helen,they successfully brought the image back to the Greek camp at dawn.

　　七夕節的神話故事

Long long ago , there was an honest and kind-hearted fellow named Niu Lang . His parents died when he was a child . Later he was dirven out of his home by his sister-in-law(嫂子) he lived by farming with an old cow.

從前，有個善良又誠實的人，叫牛郎。他的父母在他童年的時候就死了。後來，他被迫和他嫂子生活在一起，他靠用牛耕地來餬口。

One day,the magical cow kindly told him a way to find a beautiful and nice woman as his life companion . Under the direction of the cow,Niu Lang went to the riverside on an evening evening the seven fairies left heaven to bathe . He took one of the beautiful silk dresses the fairies had left on the bank.

一天，神奇的牛告訴他，去尋找一個美麗的和漂亮的女人作爲他的人生伴侶。在這頭牛的指引下，一天傍晚，牛郎來到河邊，看到7個美麗的仙女在洗澡，他就拿了其中最漂亮的一件絲綢走了。

When the fairies left the water,the youngest couldn't find her clothes and had to see her sisters fly back to heaven without her.

當仙女們從水裏出來後，最小的那個仙女找不到衣服了，所以其他的仙女們就回天上了，而沒有帶走她。

Then Niu Lang came out with the dress and asked the youngest fairy,Zhi Nu,to stay with Nu fell in love with him and came down secretly to earth and married Niu Lang farmed in the filed and the Zhi Nu wove at home . They lived a happy life and had a son and a daughter.

後來，牛郎拿着衣服出來，像這個被落下的最小的仙女表白說：“我想和你在一起。”從此織女就愛上了牛郎，就悄悄的來到的人間嫁給了牛郎。夫妻倆一個種田，一個織布，生活十分美滿，兩年間織女生了一對兒女。

Unfortunately,the God of Heaven soon found out the fact and ordered the Queen Mother to bring Zhi Nu back the help of magical cow ,Niu Lang flew to heaven with his son and daughter.

不幸的是，天帝很快發現了這件事，命令王母去把織女抓回來。在這頭神奇牛的幫助下，牛郎帶着兩個孩子飛到了天上。

At the time when he was about to catch up with his wife ,the Queen Mother took off one of her gold hairpins and made a stroke river appeared in front of Niu Lang . Niu Lang and Zhi Nu were separated on the two banks forever.

正在他要抓住織女的時候，王母摘下金髮簪在空中劃了一下。一道銀河出現在了牛郎面前，從此牛郎和織女被這道銀河分隔兩地。

They loyalty to touched magpies ，so tens of thousands of magpies came to build a bridge for the Cowhand and Weaver Maid to meet each other. The Queen Mother was eventually moved

and allowed them to meet each year on the 7th of the 7th lunar month. Hence their meeting date has been called "Qi Xi" (Double Seventh).

他們的忠誠感動了喜鵲，成千上萬的喜鵲在銀河上架起一座鵲橋，讓牛郎織女在橋上相會。王母沒有辦法，被他們感動了，只好允許每年的七月初七的晚上，讓牛郎和織女在鵲橋上相會一次。因此，牛郎和織女的約會就是“七夕節”(七七節)。
