間接轉述：託福口語能力的練習需要通過複述來提高，複述的實質是將自己聽到和看到的話語用自己的話以口頭方式再轉達出來。“直接引述”是直接引用說話人的原話，而要用自己的話把別人的意思轉述出來就稱爲“間接轉述”。託福口語考試中一般應採用“間接轉述”的方法：針對特定問題，用自己的話把讀到、聽到的對話內容或演講內容再重複出來。對考生來說，這當然是一個更高層次的要求。因爲，首先要聽得懂、讀得懂別人的觀點，其次才能在此基礎上進行加工處理，變爲自己的語言再陳述出準確意思來。這時候，“善於把別人的東西據爲己有”就不再是一個“惡劣的行徑”了。此時此刻，它將轉化爲一個極爲有效的、甚至是高效的手段，以此來達到“借雞下蛋”的目的。

託福口語考試間接轉述應注意以下幾點規則：在轉述的引語前一般要用連詞that。要根據意思改變人稱。 當要轉述的言語爲連貫的話語時，應用go on(繼續)，continue(接着)，add(補充)等，以及各種引述動詞。間接轉述不是重複原話，因此，時態要有所變動。一般來講，現在時變爲過去時，過去時變爲過去完成時。指示代詞、地點及時間狀語也要作必要改動。

釋義、意譯：Paraphrase (to express in a shorter or clearer way what someone has written or said) 就是用你所知道的，或者對你來說較容易的詞彙、短語、以及語法去解釋那些較爲難懂的語句。

概述：Summarize (to make a short statement giving only the main information and not the details of a plan, event, report, etc.) 就是用簡練話語概括描述一篇材料的中心思想。
