考研英語翻譯技巧習慣用法

在考研英語翻譯時，由於兩種語言在語法和習慣表達上的差異，在保證原文意思不變的情況下，譯文必須改變詞類，這就是詞類轉譯法，這種方法不僅指詞類的改變，而且還包括詞類作用的改變和一定詞序的變化。

1、more A than B，less B than A，not so much B as/but A

這幾個表達的常見意思都是“比……更……”，但在實際翻譯過程中無法通順表達，這時，均可可以理解爲：與其說是B，不如說是A。

注意：翻譯時候的位置變化，比如more A than B中，more是“多”，than是“少”，而中文中的“與其”是少，“不如”是多，所以翻譯時候需要顛倒。

例：Your son is more shy than unfriendly.

譯文：你兒子與其說是不友好，不如說是害羞。

2、no than

Mary is no morebeautiful than Jane. 各位可以來做一下選擇題：

1)瑪麗比簡漂亮。

2)簡比瑪麗漂亮。

3)瑪麗和簡都漂亮。

4)瑪麗和簡都不漂亮。

公佈答案：no more...than，not any more than表示"兩者都不"，"不比…更"。因此，上面那個句子Mary is no more beautiful than Jane.意思就是“瑪麗和簡都不漂亮”，你可以翻譯得漂亮點：瑪麗也沒有比簡漂亮到哪裏去~~~ (這麼說你就得罪兩個人了~~)

例：The heart is no moreintelligent than the stomach, for they are both controlled by the brain.

譯文：心臟和胃一樣無智力可言，因爲它們都是由大腦控制的。

3、rather than

* 很多情況下是一個表示否定的詞組，譯成"而不是"，例如：

He, rather than,you is responsible for the loss.

譯文：損失由他而不是你負責。

4、other than 一般表示 different from或except,即"不同於，除了"。

例：There was nothing they could do other thanspend the night in the temple.

譯文：他們除了在廟宇裏過夜別無它法。
