Depends on how much I know someone. I have trouble on the phone, since 90% of my communication is body language, so texting means I have more time to think about what I'm saying and make sure the meaning gets across correctly. If I know someone well, that's less of an issue, because we can read each other without having to see each other. In those cases, calling is great. Otherwise, texting is always my first choice.
