外交部就中方隔離墨公民答記者問

問：5月2日，墨西哥外長表示，中方將沒有感染病毒的墨公民進行隔離是歧視做法，缺乏科學根據，墨方難以接受。墨外交部提醒墨公民在中方糾正有關歧視和不公正措施之前，不要去中國旅行。請問中方對此有何評論？
Q: On May 2, Mexican Foreign Minister claimed that China's placing uninfected Mexican citizens under quarantine was discrimination with no scientific foundation, which cannot be accepted. The Mexican Foreign Ministry recommends avoiding traveling to China until these measures are corrected. How do you comment?
　　
答：我們注意到了有關報道。4月30日，一名乘墨西哥飛中國的AM098直航航班來華的墨西哥公民在香港被確診感染甲型H1N1流感病毒。爲了防控甲型H1N1流感疫情，維護人民羣衆健康和衛生安全，中方對該航班旅客採取了必要的醫學隔離措施。有關措施並非針對墨西哥公民，沒有歧視性。這一問題是純粹的衛生檢疫問題。中方理解墨方對其在華公民權益的關切，希望墨方從共同應對疫情的大局出發，對中方採取的必要措施給予充分理解，客觀、冷靜處理這一問題。
A: We have taken note of relevant reports. On April 30, a Mexican citizen taking Flight AM098 from Mexico to China was confirmed in Hong Kong to be infected by A-H1N1 virus. In order to put the virus under control and safeguard people's health and hygienic safety, China took necessary quarantine measures towards the passengers on the flight. The measures are non-discriminative and not targeted at Mexican citizens. This is simply a hygienic inspection issue. We understand Mexico's concern over the rights and interests of its citizens in China, but we hope Mexico could proceed from the overall interest of joint response to the disease, fully understand the necessary measures we have taken, and handle the issue in an objective and calm manner.
　　
我想強調指出，中墨是友好國家，中國高度重視同墨西哥的友好合作關係。中方願繼續同墨方加強合作，共同應對疫情。
I would like to stress that China and Mexico are friendly countries. China values its friendly cooperation with Mexico and stands ready to strengthen the cooperation so as to jointly address the disease.
